The XIAOMI Pad 7 didn’t feel flashy to me at first glance. But once you actually start using the screen, things change a bit. That nano texture display has a matte-like feel, and reflections are noticeably lower than what I’m used to on regular tablets.
The 11.2-inch 3.2K display sits in a nice middle ground. Big enough for work and movies, but not so large that it feels uncomfortable to hold for long sessions. I found it easier on the eyes, especially indoors with lights on.
Performance is where this tablet quietly does its job. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 doesn’t try to show off, but everything runs smoothly. Switching apps, streaming, light editing — nothing felt rushed or slow. I didn’t push extreme gaming, so can’t really comment there.
Who this tablet seems useful for
- Students attending online classes or studying regularly
- People using a tablet for business and productivity
- Entertainment like movies, browsing, and reading
- Users who prefer a less reflective, anti-glare screen
Who may want something else
- Hardcore gamers looking for flagship-level performance
- Users who prefer very compact tablets
With 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, multitasking doesn’t feel tight. Apps stay in memory, and there’s enough space to not worry about storage for a while. This setup feels more comfortable than the usual base variants.
Audio is decent. The stereo speakers are clear and work well for personal viewing. With Dolby Vision and Atmos support, movies sound fuller, though it’s still tablet audio at the end of the day.
Battery life surprised me slightly. The 8850 mAh battery easily lasted a full day with mixed use. Browsing, videos, some work — I didn’t feel the need to keep the charger nearby.
The tablet runs on HyperOS 2, which feels clean and straightforward. No unnecessary clutter, and it didn’t take time to get used to. If you’ve used Xiaomi devices before, the experience feels familiar.
